loving option?

I've been a bit surprised by James over the past few weeks. Most of the time as finals approach, he's the kind of asshole student I hated in law school- the kind that would put off studying and preparing for finals until the last minute and then spend a night cramming and gets As...i HATE that guy. This semester has been very different. With the looming fear of pending fatherhood, James has really stepped up to the academic plate. He's finished all 3 of his term papers and the first one wasn't due until this week and he's already started studying for his last final which is tuesday. i'm pretty sure hell has frozen over. At our da yesterday, the dr seemed a bit concerned as I am only 38 weeks and am measuring at 41. We have an ultrasound on Tuesday afternoon (i made them schedule it late because they had originally tried to schedule it at 8 during James' final and MAN did he pout)....so as a reward for all his hard work he gets to go see his baby. He's pretty much brought his A game though- it was raining when I came home from work the other night and he was standing in the parking lot with an umbrella so i wouldn't get wet running into the dorm. Now THAT'S HOT. Anyway, he's just been so amazing. The dr mentioned induction or c section depending on the size of the baby and how my cervix checks out next Friday. I'm not trying to be mean, but when we went to schedule our ultrasound, the receptionst made the comment that they had been scheduling u/s all day for this next week- translation- anyone who is due the week of Christmas is having an ultrasound next week to determine if there is any excuse the drs can find to yank the babies early so they won't have to deliver on Christmas. My dr is on call christmas eve. she can't fool me. The only problem is that if they induce me on the 22nd,which is the tenative date and they have to do a c section instead, i'll be in the hossy on christmas day. that being said, for as long as we've waited one christmas in the hospital won't kill us.

Second round of surprises is James' current opinions on other children. Up until recently he's been on the "well, let's get one here and see"...the past week or so, he's been hinting otherwise. Like, when we went to check out Amelia's day care, he asked what the rate was for multiple children and then tonight he asked me that if something happened and we couldn't have any more children if we could adopt. Hell yeah we can adopt. Anyway, i'm just getting excited watching him get excited. I think he too finally realizes that this is actually going to happen. I called my MIL the other night to give her the da report and she said my fil has been pacing the floor for about 3 weeks now going "well, i just wish james would call and tell us nothing is happening...i can't stand the anticipation". lmao. I just feel so very blessed right now. It amazes me what God has done in my life in 2009. And though this has turned out to be an amazing year, it has been an emotional rollercoaster. I'm not going to complain if 2010 turns out to be a little mundane.

  2. 2010 will be AMAZING! You will get to watch Amelia grow, learn, and change everyday. Just think, this time next year you'll be planning her 1 year birthday party with a little girl toddling around you!
